Online Meetings
- Some meetings request you to contact the group directly for meeting information or password.
- We cannot predict who will recover, nor have we the authority to decide how recovery should be sought by any other alcoholic.
- The members of each meeting decide when, where, and how often they will meet.
- Group meetings are conducted by A.A.
The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. It’s based on one alcoholic helping another. Meetings are typically listed as “open” or “closed” meetings. Use the filter options to find upcoming meetings on specific days or types such as “Tuesday” “Big Book”, “Speaker”, or “Proof of Attendance”.
Find a Meeting
Some staff members want to keep the recent changes as opposed to having clients return to in-person meetings. Other members are adamant things return to the way they were before the pandemic. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. Sometimes a referral source asks for proof of attendance at A.A. The nature and extent of any group’s involvement in this process is entirely up to the individual group. We strongly support the principles of sponsorship and active service.
AA member stories
We prefer AA Online to be a website of attraction rather than promotion. We adhere to Tradition 5, and all our Traditions, as much as possible, with the only requirement for membership being a desire to stop drinking. We also adhere to Tradition 6, lending our name to no other entities. Meetings can take place both online and by phone.

Therefore, we ask that group members and others refrain from any behavior which might compromise another person’s safety. Also, please take the precautions you feel are necessary to ensure your own personal safety, for example, walking to your car in a group after a meeting. If a situation should arise where someone feels their safety is in jeopardy, or the situation breaches the law, the individuals involved should take appropriate action. Calling the proper authorities does not go against any A.A.
